Default Sludge~vibration

Hey guys, I got a major problem I think... I will be the first to admit, its probably my fault Anyway, I have a 2006 f-150 5.4, I negleted last oil change and went about 10,000 miles (I know, stupid), well I got a huge Sludge issue now. The engine now seems to vibrate when idling in gear after it has been driven. I got a new pcv valve (valve cover), which was sludge covered, and fresh oil change. It ran fine till I got back home, about 150 miles, then when I pulled into the drive way it was doing that again (vibrating). Once I rev it up it stops and sounds great, its just at low rpms. Not sure what to make of this! Hope I don't need a new engine! Any ideas??????? Thanks!

Check the vacuum elbows going to the PCV. Several write ups about that.

Thanks Bill! I pulled the hose off and there was a small amount of sludge in it, but other than that it looked good. I cleaned it up and put it back on..... I went and got another oil change today after putting some detergent in the oil and driving about 300 miles, it was already black and smelled of gas. Hopfully with frequent oil changes the sludge will slowly disapear. I am a little worried about the gas in the oil, could that be injector problem???? It still wants to sputter and die at low idle.... Again, thanks for the help!

Check to see if the air intake hose is either cracked or lose. This is the hose from your air filter to your trottle body. If there is any opening that air can be sucked in from after your air flow sensor, it will also cause it to act this way.

Hope you havent forgot about us and check back into your post here at the forum.

Okay, I took the truck in and they put it on the computer.. It came up with a code for timing. The Tech told me it is a sensor thats in the valve cover. He told me to just drive it and continue to "clean" the motor up with additives and if the problem does not improve we can replace the other valve cover with the sensor in it.... Does this sound right?????

Come to think about it... Is there even any type of sensor in the passengers side valve cover? He said it had something to do with timing....
