Default Slight grinding while in drive

So i'm hearing (and feeling) a slight grinding while driving at slow speeds. The sound is not very noticeable but my truck feels sluggish. It will not move forward if I take my foot off the brake while waiting at a stop light. Not really sure what is causing this but I noticed a change after I tried to use my ebrake and it froze on me. I pried away the shoes and had my buddy work on it not to mention the sound seems to be coming from the front of the truck. If anyone has any ideas that could help me solve this issue that would be awesome!
