shifter removal
The 5-speed shifter on my truck is friggen stuck!

I put the bolt on the other side and started cranking, it get wobbly like it wants to come out but then it just jams up! WHAT THE ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not only did the previous owner put a heavy *** gear lube in my m50d but they ****ed up the lower shifter gasket. The one that goes under the floor and surrounds the shifter to keep water and stuff out. Now I can't find a friggen part number for that and I cant get the damn shifter off. I'm so pissed off right now.
Anyone have any tricks before I just cut the bastard off?

Okay I walked away from it for a little bit.. (went to the bar) When I got home I swear to god, I grabbed it and it lifted right off with no force.... really. WTF I don't get it. Maybe it knew the cutting torch was 5 mins from being lit up.
In the process or repairing the inner boot because Ford no longer makes it.. Great.
Put a gallon of cheap AFT in the trans and drove about 20 miles then dumped it to get all the residual GEAR OIL out. Put Amsoil Torque Drive in, now I'm just waiting for the glue/silicone to dry on the inner boot so I can put that in tomorrow and be done with the truck for awhile.
