I have a 1990 F150 with a MO5D transmission. I need to replace the shifter boot but cannot figure out how to get it on the shift lever. I have removed the old boot (it was already torn) and the shift lever from the tower, But, I can't figure out how to get the new boot on. Does anyone know how to do this?

 

I've run into the same problem - anyone have an answer?
