I have an 86 F150
The fuel gadge is messing up. I figure its the SU.
I just want to know what to check before I go thru all the trouble of replacing it. Another thing is whats the odds that the tank straps will be reusable or will I need to get new ones?

if the straps are rusted out, them replace them...otherwise straps should be reused. I reused the ones in my Bird when i swapped in a 255 walbro.

The related wiring, including grounding, as well as the dash panel needle are a couple of things that come to mind.
