Default Rivets or Screws?

I am going to install slip-on rocker panels using 3M panel adhesive. in addition to the adhesive, i plan to tightly secure the rockers with either self-drilling zinc plated screws or aluminum pop rivets. which is stronger/better, the rivets or the screws?

Thank you

Since they're the same metal, I'd use the rivets.

Yeah, it is not a cheap repair in any case. If you manage to find someone to repair it without replacing the whole panel, it would be great, but most repairing services won't risk taking this job. That is why you have nothing to do except to pay for the replacement. And to avoid such situations in the future, I suggest you make cosmetic car insurance that will cover any cosmetic damage that happens to your car. Contact someone from Money Expert for more information related to this topic.

I would use aluminum sheet metal screws. They are available at ACE Hardware and probably other places. They are available on Amazon too. They are not as strong as steel, but plenty strong for the job. Most have slot heads, as phillips heads might gouge out if over torqued. I used them to install my hood bug deflector, as I don't trust the adhesive alone to hold up to the strain. They have myriad other uses on these aluminum body trucks. Just snug them up good and don't over - torque.
