That's right, my cargo light will not turn OFF. This is the light outside of the truck, just above the rear window. The light used to turn off when I would lock the truck (how it's supposed to work). Now, it simply won't turn off! I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery to see if it would help, but it didn't. For now, I've simply unplugged the two little bulbs, to keep my battery from draining. Anyone have any ideas?

 

That is your cargo light not reverse light, it comes on with the interior lights like when the door is open or you have your headlight switched cranked all the way over to engage interior lights.

Thanks for clarifying what the light is called. However, the switch on the inside is not all the way over. The interior lights are not on either. Just the cargo light.

 

What year is the truck?

Sorry, 2010 XLT, regular cab.

 

Looking at a 2013 wiring diagram shows that light is controlled by the body control module. I do not know if it's the same on a 2010. If it is then a trip to the dealer you will go.
