Default Rear Brake Bleeding

I just changed the right rear caliper. During the time I was away getting the part, about 4-6 oz of fluid came out of the brake line. I filled the reservoir then bled the right side first then the left. The pedel is still soft.
Any thoughts?

Thanks

Bleed the front, also. Then bleed the hell out of the back again.

Was the master cylinder out of fluid that it needs to be bench bled? Another common error, the calypers have two positions for the bleeder, bleeder needs to be in the top location not the lower, (won't get trapped air out).

The master cylinder was OK.
On my truck the bleed screw can't be moved. I understand your point. On the drivers side its on the top of the caliper, but on the Passanger side its on the bottom side.

Can I just take the caliper off, hold it upside down on the rotor, and bleed it that way?

Thanks

Go back to the store and get the correct calyper, they sold you the wrong one. The bleeder has to be at the top, just looked at my truck they are not interchangeable, right and left are different. 2002 F150. Do not cheat yourself and cause problems in the future.

I'll return it and get the correct one.

Thanks for the advice and for checking your truck.
