Default Radio/Lights Problem

Greetings,

I have a 2007 F150 Reg Cab 4.2liter. My son stuck some change down into my CD player and I've had some strange things happen. When I hit bumps the radio would go on and off. Then I hit a bump last night and I lost all of the backlighting on my dash and my tail lights. How do I fix this? How do I get into the dash to get the coins out of my radio?

Thanks!

To remove the radio is very simple. First remove the plastic trim plate around the radio, AC *****, etc. Just open the cup holder and gently pull the trim plate off. It is just held down by friction tabs. The radio will be held on by four screws. When you get the radio out you can remove the top and should be able to see the CD player. Not knowing where the coins may be, if they are in where the CD's go you may be able to move them back through the slot with a screwdriver. Just sometime that you can use to move the coins around with.

As far as lights not working, the coins seem like they caused some shorts. Hopefully nothing more than blow fuses will be you problem. The manual has a complete listing of each fuse location and what they power.

If the radio does not work anymore, used after OE units can be had fairly cheaply. I just got a OE 6-CD unit for $70. You will have to look around because when I was looking I saw prices as high as $350. So, looking around helped me.

Now this is for an '05, but I am assuming yours should be about the same.
