Angry Power Window Problems

Hi All:

Just bought a 2004 F-150 Lariat Supercrew with ONLY 24k miles. Bought it from the original owner, been garaged kept and (obviously) hardly driven. I take it out for the second time since I bought it last Thursday, and as I'm driving, I hear a loud pop from the rear passenger window. I glance over and see the window has dropped a few inches. I press the UP button for that window, and hear a nasty grinding noise from that door and the window doesn't budge. I pull over and find out that the window is steadily sliding down into the door (no resistance whatsoever, but I can't pull it back up).

What the heck could be wrong? This is my first Ford truck, and as the truck is practically brand new, it's a bit disheartening to say the least. This truck is definitely not starting out on the right foot with me.

After further investigation on the internet, it appears I am not alone.

Pull off the door panel and check cable system, sounds like cable is off pulley.

OK...this is turning into a joke. On the way back from the dealer to get a quote for the right rear window ($325 for a new regulator), the left rear window does the same thing. I call the previous owner and he stated that he's had to replace the front 2 window regulators as well. Are you freaking kidding me?

Default 2004 Window regulator passenger side

Motor has a nylon wheel that spins steel cable eats the wheel up in time , but guess what the replacement part is the same thing only can purchase from ford $200.00 versus $500.00 to $700.00 Ford Dealership repairs do it yourself . It took me 3hrs thanks to people like you, definetly should be a recall. Dont even try auto parts stores.
