Default Power Steering Issues

Hey everyone,

I have a 2008 XL 4.2L 2WD and the power steering pump is making that all too familiar whining sound. The steering also gets hard to turn when it reaches the extremes of the travel. Anyone know what I should do? Flush the system and refill, rebuild the pump, or replace it all together? Hopefully it's a pump issue and not a rack and pinion problem.

Thanks!

Honestly if it were me, I would try flusing the system first. Cheaper ways before the more expensive ways. I also wouldn't wast money on rebuilding the pump. Go to www.partsgeek.com . They normally have pretty good prices.
