Default P1450 code

Found some older threads on this subject. There are two rubber hoses on the intake under the intake cover. They get old and deteriorated and need to be replaced. I'm having the same problem. They say you can fix it by replacing the two hoses with 1/4 inch fuel hose for $5 or $6. They say you have to clamp the smaller hose so it will stay on. Oh, by the way, they are on the drivers side.

Making sure of your vacuum hoses and leaks is a must. Your EVAP carbon canister is above the spare tire mounted to the frame. Lowering the spare is how to get to it. New EVAP's are in the $250/$300 range if all else is in good shape. The EVAP test is run and puts up an I/M sensor test ok or incomplete that will throw a Cel. Can't pass emissions then. The I/M tests are part of your code reader features, which can help a lot with the codes, tests and freeze frames.

The code is for a canister vent fault. The vent is back by the tank at the canister. I typically see broken on corroded wires to the vent. Typically have wiring problems near the frame where the wires for the vent come off the main harness. Worth a check, if you have a scan tool and can command the vent open/closed should hear a click. Command it then check for power and ground. Inline noid light works fine. Should have power all the time and the PCM grounds the vent when commanded. Glwr!

rudeboy 607, did you get your problem fixed? After reading a few of the recent posts I see that the problem is at the fuel canister. From what I read in the old posts, I thought it was at the engine intake manifold. If you had any luck with it, let me know how you did it. My 2000 is throwing the same code.
