P0174 code
Hi. I posted an intro recently and mentioned that my 2007 F150 with a 4.6 engine had been running well since I bought it last year but started running rough, and kicked out a P0174 code, lean on bank 2. I cleaned the maf and checked for leaks, and didn't find any. Still running terrible. Not knowing the condition of the plugs, and suspecting with all the wet weather we had experienced, I wondered about the coil on plugs. , and if one could have developed a problem that the high humidity was not helping. I ordered a set of coils, bought plugs at the local autoparts, and just installed them. What a pain of a job compared to our other cars, but wow, running beautifully, power galore, and the code is gone. FYI, I used cop's I ordered from ARA Parts on ebay. Low cost, and work well. Hope they last, but reviews seemed to be good, and service was excellent.
Oh yeah, the gap on some of the plugs were way over spec. I assume at 73000 miles they were original.
