oil sensor replacement

1995 f150 4x4 5.8 oil sending unit. How do i remove the part in the block. Wrench or socket, what size. I am a carpenter, not a mechanic. Please help, thanks.

Although they make a special tool, I believe 1-1/16, 6 point will do the job. Its been a long time.
