Default oil sample concern

Recently replaced my 3.5 ecoboost engine. During the first oil change I had Ford take a oil sample and sent to a 3rd party lab. All lab results came back normal except high levels of Silicon. According to the lab the max should be 20ppm my sample was 57ppm.

Any ideas why a new engine with 5k miles would show this value? The original engine crapped out at 30k miles and was replaced by Ford under warranty.

For the first oil change or two in a new engine the silicone gasket/sealers leaching into the oil will show up on an analysis as silicon. There may also be some casting residue getting flushed out of nooks and crannies. Nothing to worry about. It will level off.

Default oil analysis

I sent my first oil analysis from brand new truck with 3.5 ecoboost in to Fluidlife for testing.
My silicone was at 82 PPM.
Silicon levels can be skewed by dust, & dirt contamination, & the way the front sway bar mounts below the oil drain it is hard to collect a sample that is not flowing over the sway bar.

The last 3 oil analysis have been sent to another lab, but wear metals are still trending down.

There is wear metals in a new engine, which is normal.

My first oil change had high levels of silicon & iron too, but was more concerned with the fuel dilution.

Oil change intervals have been approximately around 2700- 3000 miles.

I attached my oil analysis reports, would be interesting to see how your break in oil sample compares to mine.
