Default Odometer light???

I don't know if this has been covered before. If so point me to the thread. My 99 f150's odometer light works sometimes and sometimes it does not. The miles are correct, I just never know when the light will be on to keep up with my mpg. I have heard this is an issue with this model f150. Does anybody know a fix for this. I just trying to get some info before I take the cluster out to look at it. Oh yea, everything else works fine on the gauge cluster, just the odometer light, Thanks, B

can you smack the cluster to turn it back on?

my '99 mustang does this, seems like a loose connection.

Sometimes that works, but it's mostly random.
