Odd Whistle
#11
Have that same intermittent whistle(only when it's really cold and not at all after the engine's warm) on my ' 04 F150 with 4.6. I've only had it a few months and I bought extra warranty so I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask @ the dealer.

you makin my dog laugh too.
So, anyways... are you running jet fuel? LOL
about the whistle, mine does it to. What I have come to find out, its not just when its cold, its more than likely the weather stripping around your windows catching a little air at a wierd angle, the coldness can make the rubber more firm so the whistle may be louder, but it especially happens when its moving a little quicker on the freeway when its cold. try rollin the window up and down when it whistles, or if theres a passenger in the truck, have them rub their hand up and down the back of the window opening when it starts. haha good luck... and make sure your landing gear works.

I really don't know how the cold effects rubber gaskets... We don't experience too many freezing temp days down here. But as far as the heat and humidity goes... you almost have to add ram air to your transmission cooler to keep it below 300. haha.

I've got the 4.6 engine and it's got the stock air intake.Do the aftermarket air intakes improve performance or mileage at all?
What do you guys mean by 2V or 3V in other parts of the forum?

yes, it will improve your millage a bit, but it is the power that you are after.
the 97-03 trucks had a 2 valve motor (2v) and the 04-current trucks have a 3 valve motor (3v).
