Default Not Shifting-Please help!!

So I went mudding the other day with some friends, and the truck was doing great!
98 F150 5.4L 4x4 automatic Trans.
I broke my front cv axle, so I pulled over, took it off and tried getting it home, then the hub came apart so my wheel fell off lol I fixed it on the road and limped it back home, once I hit pavement, and started to accelerate..the truck wasn't running right.
The transmission would shift between 1 and 2 but wouldn't go any further, I was in 2H and the rpm's would just rise up, then drop quickly if I let off the peddle. Couldn't really go faster than 30-35 at about 2k rpm.
Does anyone know what the problem could be? It was working just fine before. Feels like it wants to shift, but it won't allow itself to go into a lower gear.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
