Default new dash cluster ?

just installed a dash cluster from the scrap yard . it is in much better shape than my old one which was scratched and has some broken solder joints making the odometer come and go as it pleases . anyway got the new one installed everything works except no start as the theft light is now on . is there a way of stopping or recoding the new cluster so the theft light goes off . i have re-installed my old cluster for now and the truck starts fine . both my keys work o.k with the old cluster but no start with the new cluster . any help would be much appreciated . thanks

you have to get the cluster and/or keys reprogrammed or something like that if im not mistaken. its part of the anti theft system. google the PATS cluster im sure something will come up. if its just the clear plastic thats scratched up bad, just take it off the new one you got and swap it, then just resolder the broken joints. much easier than reprogramming the whole thing in my opinion.
