Default Need some help please..

Hello
I have a 94 F150 4x4. The last few weeks I have noticed that when I put it in reverse that is "sticking" acting like a brake is stuck or something is bound up than it breaks free and "clunks" and goes in reverse. The past couple days it has gotten worse and now will do the above and go a few feet than bind up again. I am afraid to drive it because I dont want something to break and than I am stuck in the middle of winter some place. Any ideas???
Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
Dave

Are you locked in 4X4, if not are your hubs locked in. This sounds like drive train binding if you are in 4X or the front U joints are going out.

it sounds and feels like the brakes are locking up. I know nothing of brakes so I just took the wheels off and hit the drums really hard with a 2lb hammer. Than took an air hose and blew a bunch of dust out. Than sprayed some brake cleaner all around the drums. I am waiting for it to dry before I try driving it again. I just replaced the u joints less than 6 months ago. I double checked and I am not in 4x4 and I have auto hubs. I have not replaced the brakes in the 3yrs I have owned the truck. I have no idea when they were replaced last. I wonder if one locked up. Now it sounds like a brake pad is sticking or stuck. You can tell something in the rear is locking???

I know that on a regular 2 wheel drive truck, if there is any oil...like from a
leaking axle seal , that the brake will stick on the drum. It will especially lock up the rear brakes if it's a little wet out from rain. Just an idea for you.
