Default Need help to diagnose problem.

The pre 1997 f150s have dual fuel tanks.

On the 94, it obviously has dual tanks. The rear tank works fine, but when you switch the switch to the front tank, the engine loses power, power steering, and abs. I have to switch it back immediately or the engine will shut off.

The tank has not worked for a long time, and my dad has not taken the time to work on it. Now I want to do get it fixed.

I am wondering if it is most likely a problem with the tank itself, the fuel pump, or the fuel lines---also if it is something that I could fix with just me and a friend, or if i have to take it somewhere to get it fixed.

Thank you for any help.
