i jsut bough a 1987 f150 costom and now it wont run. wehn i turn the key nothing hapens exseped the lights on the dash and the fule pump comes on . but the engin and starter does nothing at all. any ideas on whats wrong . btw i have jsumped it off the SOLENOID so i no the engin is fine.

 

Sounds like your ground wire you unhooked has corroded maybe internally, and you moving it around finally broke your ground connection?
