Can you here the lock pin releasing when you push the brake pedal. The sensor may be bad.

I just went out to look at it and I can't hear anything unlocking and I just noticed when I turn the ignition on a symbol lights up that is a sillouette of a car with what looks like a screw in the side of it could this be a warning light for the sensor? Is this sensor located in the steering column?

well I replaced the brake switch and fuse and it kept blowing the 5 amp fuse that it calls for so I put in a 15 and it blew that also I put in a 30 and everything is fine now although I wondering where the problem is that its blowing fuses. It also seems that same fuse is connected to the door chime and the windshield wiper motor and washer motor as they were all not working until I replaced the fuse.
