Default Is my clutch going bad?

So I was driving back from Denver (about an hour drive or so) and at around 75 MPH i started hearing a tiny whine that i couldn't place. As i let my foot off the accelerator I heard what sounded like metal sliding against metal with a tiny rattle coming from what I think is my clutch that went away after the RPM's dropped. I normally down shift to decelerate and after this noise started I felt as if the down shifting wasn't slowing down the truck as much as it normally does. The rpm's would change (I don't have a gauge but I could hear it) but I didn't feel the normal deceleration. I have not learned a lot about maintenance and repair ( I have done very simple repairs like battery cables and door locks) but never something with a major piece of the motor. I feel fairly comfortable doing car work (mainly because I am in college and can't afford a shop). What can I do to check my clutch to see if it is going out and any advice on repairing it if it is.

My vehicle specs:
93' Ford F150
Straight 6 4.9L
I believe the clutch is still the original. My Dad owned the vehicle for a couple years around 2008-2010 then I have owned it for two years. He has never replaced the clutch but He said he might have had it repaired at one point.

If you have any questions (as im sure you will) please don't hesitate. I need my truck for my job so I will be monitoring this forum very closely.

Thanks again

its very possible the clutch is bad...where does it start to grab when you let the pedal out

Also it is still driveable. I just have to use my brakes more then usual, but it seems to shift at the regular speeds just fine, feels a little harder to put in gear then normal but a very slight difference, not anything major

What do you mean by grab? The noise happens around 75MPH in 5th and then when i let off the gas the rattle happens for only a few seconds until around 70MPH then I can down shift at normal speeds and RPM's sound normal, but deceleration is very slim. Also it felt fine this morning when I drove it to Denver.

what i mean by grab is how far is the pedal off the floor when the truck starts to accelerate

It usually accelerates almost immediately after I engage the pedal.

check the pressure plate for any bent/missing fingers...hell at that point it makes sense to put a clutch in it
