What is a mega fuse, and what does it control?
Is there one located one the firewall of a 2000 F 150?

I have a '97 that may be similar to your ride. Two Mega-Fuses, actually fusible links about three inches long and 3/4" wide, are located on the distribution rack mounted to the firewall, right side. Heavy red cables are attached at both ends of the fuses. One fuse is connected between the alternator output and the battery. The other is connected between the battery and the power distribution box. Each fuse is rated at 175 amps.
