I got my F150 back from my son in November and have been working on it quite a bit myself ever since. This AM I attempted to clean my MAS, it has never been touched before as far as I know. I barely turned my wrench and it busted off the screw just below the head. I stopped there, it runs fine except for the flat spot in the accelerator which was what I was trying to fix. Do I have to replace the entire throttle body? The MAS about about 90k miles on it and has probably never been touched.

 

Post a pic !! need to see what screw you broke off. Not sure what year and motor your working on...

 

OOOps sorry. I have a 2004 F 150 with a 4.6. I broke the bottom screw in the MAS. It is still in place I did not take out the top one. I will see if I can post a pic from my cell phone. I thought it would be a 5 minute job. I am sure no one else has ever touched it.

 

On my 06 4.6 the MAS is just beyond the air filter canister. If you open it up it is to the left. I never touch it, just get MAS cleaner from oreillys and spray it then close back up.
