Lower control arm replacement- remove springs??

Default Lower control arm replacement- remove springs??

2000 2wd… replacing the lower control arms with Moog complete arms that have the lower ball joints and bushings installed…

do I need to compress and remove the coil springs for this job?? Shouldn’t they just drop out when I remove tie rod and lower ball joints?

it doesn’t look like it’s necessary but the Chiltons manual says everything comes off- brake caliper, brake shield, springs…but the Chilton/Haynes have been wrong before…

ha! I have plenty…never worked on a Ford prior this this- got a 15/16 foot on the bolt head but the nut is another size…nothing I have fits- 22mm-24mm…
