Default Loud electric fans

Hey all, First post long time lurker.

I have a 2010 F150 XLT 4X4 with the 5.4. My AC leaks and i have to add a can of freon every so often. Well i was adding freon last night and according to the gauge that comes with the arctic freeze i was at 35psi, gauge says normal range is 35-45psi.

In the middle of adding freon one or both of my electric fans kicks in to what must be turbo mode, extremely loud. It has never done this before and now everytime i turn on the ac these fans stay in warp drive. Is it possible that the gauge is off and i overcharged the system? Could it be something else?

Thanks for the help.

The 35 psi is the low side pressure and it is set @ 35 to 40 psi to control the operation switch for the compressor. The high side runs at 300 psi and cycles with that switch. The fans DO turn on full speed with the A/C running. Again controlled by the same pressure switch. If the fans didn't kick into TURBO HIGH :-) something would be wrong.
