A little help
I just bought a 2001 f150 lariat 4x4, and need some help. I got a great deal on it since it has a misfire in idle causing it to run rough sounding when idling. But it is in exquisite condition inside and out, and has just been upgraded with new 35's and rims worth more than I paid for it.
It has a new transmission, new transfer case(only 4000 miles on them- they are still silver NEW), a rebuilt engine with 11000 miles on it. K&N intake, throttle body spacer, aftermarket intake, headers, dual flowmaster, superchip programer, sitting on 35's. Tires are basically new they haven't been on the truck long - Still show the rubber nubs. And it has a custom made hood on it. No rust, no tears on leather interior - looks like a brand new truck.
My question is what could cause the misfire?
It is missing at idle but will start up and doesn't miss pass idle. It has two ignition coil codes flashing for failure in coils A & H.
Looking online and here, it seems it could be as simple as those injector coils. Could it be as simple as changing those?
Or am I in for a wild ride?
What would be the worst case scenario?
I have a friend who is a certified Ford mechanic, and he is coming in the next 2 weeks to check it out, but I also wanted to get some info on what I might be looking at.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael
