LED Headlights
Good morning,
Does anyone have experience or knowledge about after-market LED lighting, headlights in particular. Good brands? Will after-market bulbs cause electrical problems with the truck?
Thank you!

Aftermarket bulbs can cause issues such as flickering but I seemed to have lucked out on my truck so far after several days. I installed Morimoto 2 stroke 3.0 bulbs in my low beams (H11) with some initial flickering when I first turned them on but they seem to be ok. They are not the brightest light available by any means but I chose them as supposedly they recirculate heat inside the headlight lens with their fan to somewhat melt ice and snow. Getting snow today so tonight might be a good test. The heatsink sticks out past the housing a little so I purchased a set of deeper dust caps for the Morimoto bulbs. For us that live in the snowbelt, LED lights can be an issue unless you have bottles of windshield deicer with you. The lights are much better than the Ford OEM halogen bulbs. Headlight Revolution has a lot of Youtube videos. The easiest and most compact LED bulb is GTR CSP Mini bulbs. They would have fit easily with the Ford dust caps with no problem. I have a set of the 9005's for my high beams just to keep the color uniform. Don't use the high beams much in my area. Have not done anything with the fog lights and probably won't unless I change the halogen bulbs to a yellow color instead of white for snow storms. There are many postings on here for installing bulbs in our trucks with one of the more recent ones being the Sealight brand. There have been others that have used the brighter Sylvania and Phillips halogen bulbs, but they seem to have a much shorter life.
That’s great information, thank you so much.
I’ve heard good things about Morimoto. I ordered a set of GTR’s for my wife’s Highlander (I know).
im seriously considering Morimoto XB Gen 2 full headlights.
thanks again!!

A full headlight replacement is a great way to go but a little expensive and more time consuming BUT still a good alternative. I considered it but I'm not a fan of the daytime outside border lights. Just my problem. I believe F150LED uses Cree bulbs. Cree is a well known household LED bulb maker. Don't hear too much about Cree automotive LED bulbs except for F150LED, but I would not be surprised to find out they make lights for other vendors to put their names on.
With WHAT truck? Was it originally equipped with LED headlights?
I have the cheapest garbage LEDs in my brown F250, and they've been working fine for a few years.
