Default Leak between driveshaft and rear diff

New member here quick question replaced my rear diff fluid put it back together torqued bolts to lbs its a been week and now that i got home from work i heard my driveline make a whinny noise nd looked under its leaking from the driveline shaft seal how can i change it out myself

Its a pretty easy seal. Look up replacing Pinion seal.

I hope the only thing you "torqued" was the differential cover to drain the oil. Very strange you developed a pinion leak and a whining noise after changing the gear oil.

Before you dive in, you need to read up so you what you are getting into because it is very easy to mess up the pinion preload and end up with a whining differential. You will need to know how to set up the pinion preload adjustment and anyone who tells you to mark the pinion nut and count the threads doesn't know what they are doing. You will need an pointer type torque wrench capable of reading very low inch pound readings ( specs are 8-14 inch pounds for used bearings) . I suggest you have someone knowledgeable with differentials to do the work for you..It is very easy to mess them up.
