Default Instrument cluster issue

I have a 2005 f150, the instrument cluster goes on and off. The gas, speedometer, battery, etc drops to 0. I've noticed it did it constantly during the summer, didn't do it the couple coolest months at all, but now weather is getting warmer its doing it again. Seems the hotter the weather the more it goes off and on. Is there a sensor that could be going bad and overheating to cause this? Radio doesn't seem to be affected so shouldn't be #2 or # 29 fuse. Wouldn't think a fuse would do that anyway, they usually burn and not just get hot. Thats why I'm thinking some type sensor may be. Anyone else have a similar problem?
I read some related sounding issues and added more info
Truck has a new battery and alternator. I haven't had. Starting issue since those were replaced. (Boyfriend washed engine and shorted out alternator which killed battery.) I had the cluster problem prior to the alternator and battery replacement. I haven't replaced anything else on truck except a couple fuses that blew as I didn't drive it regularly.

Check your key switch. I had an 2004 with some close to your problem and then my key assembly came a part. Once that was replace I never had the problem again.
