Induction "torches"
These are showing up in a lot of shops. Professional units are expensive, and not only is the use of them being driven by insurance, but also, they are less prone to damage of nearby items (wires, plastic, bushings) I'd like to hear some feedback from guys who have started to use them.
The mini-ductor unit set is selling for around $550 and is marketed to work up to half inch bolt: professional units ( heavy head unit on a cart, seems to adjust like a TIG lol) are $1500-3000, with faster and larger diameter working range.
These things are not new tech by any means. The military and heavy industrial sector have been using it for decades.
I use a small Propane, oxy pencil torch, which beats the hell out of any can top torch in precision and heat, but is time and gas hungry. For me to buy and tank a real torch set up, I'd be spending around $400.
So, yeah, anyone who has experience with them, your input is welcome.
