Default Hood Latch

I have a 93 f150 and I went to check my fluids the other day and now the latch is like frozen. The latch in the truck pulls, and I can see the cables working. The latch to actually pop the hood open is working, but the one to actually free the hood from the truck, isnt working. I tryed wd40 and i dont know what else to do. It is my daily driver and I need the hood to shut fully, any helps appreciated, Thanks

If I understand right - this is the latch that you have to release with a lever either under the hood's edge or through the grill?

Sometimes a little push downward on the hood while operating this lever will work - helps it clear the catch.

If this just started - I would look for something bent or in a bind (look for rub marks).
