Default High Pressure Fuel Pump

Hi all, I've been a member here for a while. In 2017 I bought a F150, RWD, 302, AOD. The truck has been on pause for a while but finally getting back to it. When I got it it ran but needed work, $700 truck. Was running fine then wouldn't start. High pressure pump went out. Changed it for a carter. Sat some more did a little work then about 4 months later wouldn't start. Carter pump went out. At this point I decided to check the tank, in thank pump and lines. Replaced everything including a new inline pump and filter. The only thing not changed has been the regulator. Now it is out of moth *****, registered. I took it out the other day and seemed like it was running on 6 or 7 cylinders. Parked it out on the street and figured a couple days later I'd pull it in the driveway, do compression check, etc. Wouldn't start. You guessed it, in line pump. Does anyone know why I keep losing pumps? Are they just junk? What is everyone buying? I had though it was junk in the tank is why I replaced everything. Could it ba an electrical problem? Lots of questions. Thanks for any help. Jim

The tank needs to be absolutely clean w/ new filter when changing the pump.If you actually verified pump failure, I would buy either an OEM unit or a Bosch which most likely is the OEM maker. Codes and fuel pressure need to be checked too.

Thank you for the answer. Sorry for the delay in response. Fighting to log in. I have replaced the gas tank and lines and replaced the reservoir with the 2 pipes. I also replaced the in tank pump. Can you think of anything else that could kill these pumps? It does seem looking at reviews on amazon that there is a lot of pumps that go bad over short periods of time. I was wondering if failures are electrical. I ordered the Bosch. Thanks again for the help. Jim
