Default hi

My names Karl I found you guys through asking google a question. I have a 1997 F-150 4.6. i bought it from a kid that just let it sit cause he didn't wanna change a battery cable. but I've changed all the spark pugs and did an oil change. the issue I'm having is it will turn over but will die immediately but if i keep my foot on the gas pedal it will stay running and I've managed to get it into gear and if i drive it it will idle in drive or reveres and whatever gear i put it in as long as I don't touch the gas pedal. I'm homeless and my fiancée and i need this truck to stay running so i can get to work.

Have you checked that all hoses to the intake manifold and valve covers are connected properly with no cracks or breaks? These newer vehicles can't have people removing "emissions stuff" and still run right. Even the air filter hoses need to be just right, no "mods" for more noise or power.

Might help if you could post a picture of the engine bay just to see where you're starting.

And, is the Check Engine Light on?
