Default Help with shock removal

Working on a 98 F150, trying to replace the shocks but am not able to get the top nut to turn on the rear. I am not able to get a 1/2 drive deep socket on and the 3/8 is not enough. Can I get a mid length socket on or is there a way to give myself a little more room to work the wrench?

Thanks for any tips...

Kerwin

Can you get in there with a box wrench? Ive had to do that alot. Might only get a quarter everytime and was time consuming but you gotta do what you gotta do.

were you able to get them off?

I have a 99 150 Scab, and recently replaced my shocks

There should be a hole in the frame, in the wheel well you can use to access the top nut on the shock. you might need to use a regular wrench to hold the shock shaft from turning (from the other side where the tube of the shock is)

that is how I did mine....

good luck
