2000 F150 5.4 with 215k miles.

When starting truck first thing in the morning it will run rough. Clearly misfiring. After driving some distance and the truck warms up the misfire goes away. On occasion the CEL will come on for a couple of weeks then turn off.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any thoughts or advice.

 

Random miss fire detected. Change the spark plugs and wires/cops if original.

Would bad plugs or COPs explain the transition from rough to normal idle after truck warms up?

Update: swapped out plugs and COP's and rough idle persists. Any other ideas?

 

check mass airflow sensor

 

Vacuum leaks, compression, injectors. Gonna need some in-depth diag to figure out.
