Unhappy Help with '06 shudder...

I have a 2006 F150. Has only 76,000 miles. When I go from a complete stop to barely accelerating it feels like there is a hesitation. It is like you are trying to accelerate with the brakes on or you are on a slick service and can't get traction. Just started. I am not hard o this vehicle at all. Bought it brand new and just paid off a few months ago. Does anyone have an idea of what the issue could be?

If your transmission is an AT, check AT fluid level when it is at operating temperature and engine idling in neutral after shifting through all "gears". Chances are the fluid level is low or not showing on the dipstick. If fluid is at normal level after this procedure, then check for sticking brake caliper pistons (2 on each front caliper) by jacking up the front and rotating the wheels on both sides. If NO problems are encountered in the previous checks, jack up the rear and check to see if the rear wheels turn freely with the parking brake pedal not set and the transmission in neutral. If your truck is equipped with rear disc brakes, then check these calipers for sticking pistons.
Though rare, rear brake cylinders or parking brake actuating mechanisms have been known to hang up and lock up the rear brakes, in the event your '04 is equipped with rear drum brakes.
