Default heater problem- any 01 f-150 experts

my heater will not blow. defrost will blow (cold). ac works. blows cold. nothing wrong with the a.c. no funds to take to a garage. can someone help with advice? how to? cost, etc.? i would appreciate any help. thanks.

How is your coolant level? The heat will stop working if its low. If the level is ok i would try flushing the heater core. Those heater cores can plug pretty easy if the system is not maintained. You can try removing the water lines that go into the heater core and try spraying water through the core with a garden hose. If its plugged up that may clear it through. Flush the water in the opposite direction of flow.

Your heater core could also be partially obstructed. Can you hear the blend doors moving??

^^ Good point. I forgot that these trucks had issues with breaking the blend air door. But usually when that happened they had warm air but it did not get hot. Either way its something to look at.

my 02 has a bad blend door... i think its pretty common... i need to get it fixed its gettin cold
