Default Heater barely blows heat

Good morning everyone. First post here and not a lot of knowledge on cars/trucks, so please excuse my ignorance, lol. 2913 Ford F-150 Platinum, V6 Ecoboost. My heat will not turn on or only blows out, which is next to nothing, on first setting, will not go any higher. Read on here awhile ago, try slapping under the glovebox, believe it or not, that worked, heat would blow out like normal, low to high. But now, it is completely out, any ideas? Guessing it’s the piece located behind the glovebox considering it would turn on when rattled. It’s cold cold cold, would like to know the name of that piece, if in fact you think it is that piece and if I need to do anything else but replace that. Thanks in advance for your help!
