Default Headlight won't turn off

2004 F-150. 5.4L V8

I purchased this truck today and when I got home and turned the headlights off, the passenger side lamp doesn't turn off... even with the truck off and the light switch off the passenger side lamp is still on. HELP!
I have no clue what could be causing this to happen.

Also, the dash now shows that my brights are turned on and I have messed with the switch and can't get the brights to turn off.

Relay stuck perhaps? Check your fuse panels for a relay for the headlights.

I checked that, it seems to be the issue. I hadn't had this issue before. Thanks!

There aren't any relays for the headlights except for DRL, if equipped. Is this truck equipped with DRL or not?

Are your sure that BOTH headlights work on both low and high beam?

St4rbuks,

Common problem, same thing happened to my 04 Ranger. It is probably the High/Low beam light control stalk. A plastic part breaks inside and it can't be repaired. I was dis-connecting my batt daily till replacement. The stalk is ~$40 part; remove upper and lower steering column shrouds and a connector and some screws, Lube the ignition cylinder and pivot points with grease while in there,
