Default Same Way:

If the 96 is the same setup as my 97, and I believe it is, then the headlamp assemblies are held in by two retainer bars that slide down behind the assemblies.

Default from the body shop........

kattum has it right. just lift up on the headlamp mounting tabs while slightly pushing back on them, ( there is a tiny locking tang necessatating the rearward push). eyeball the black plastic headlamp retainers from behind to be sure you are clear of the mounting tabs and push the lamp out from behind. unplug the housing. when you go to re install, be mindfull of the "guides" that the black plastic retainers MUST slide on. a little grease on the guides and black plastic retainers will make the job easier.
