Default having problems with brake pads.

I have a 2001 ford f150 4x4 and i'm having problems with the brake pads fitting right.they fit to tight and are sticking and the brakes are burning.can I remove the rattle clips on the calipers to give me clearance for the pads so they don't fit to tight ? has anyone else had this problem seems like the pads are a little to lonbg where the fit into the slots.

Are they aftermarket brakes? Did you grease the slide pins well? How bout the back of the pads and the metal mounting hardware?

i dont know about your 01 but my 05 has 2 springs that go on the outside edge at the top and bottom of the pads so removing the clips would make it a pain to put the calipers back on. however how i fixed mine was i took the clips off and sanded them really good to get all the gunk off and sanded the top and bottom of the pads till they ran smoothly.

Yea Ive had some issues with aftermarket besides wagner and oem. I tried removing the clips but the braked rattled and ended up puttin the clips back on. But use the previous post advice. Sand a little on the top and botton clip on the pad. Sometimes they get gunk on them from the manufacturer and just needs a little tlc.
