Default Fuse for cigarette lighter

on the 2015 it calls for a m case 20 amp fuse. Can I use a 30 amp or 40 instead of a 20? Just curious cause I'm out of 20 amp and only have 30s and 40s

Thank yOu!

Well, sure you can! Right up until the magic smoke comes out of the wiring!

Then, you'll wish you had used the correct value fuse in the first place.

You can always put in a SMALLER fuse; putting in something that allows more current to flow is always dangerous. The circuit protection (fuse, fusible link wire, circuit breaker) is there to protect the wiring from being overloaded, and acting like a heating element. If the wire overheats, it can melt through its insulation, and that of any adjacent wires in the harness, creating a cascade failure of many circuits, potentially resulting (rapidly) in the whole vehicle catching fire.
