Default Fuel pump driver problems

I have heard rumors that a deteriorated fuel pump driver module can leave you sitting on the side of the road! I have a 2010 F-150 2 wheel drive.
Should I be concerned?
What years does this problem affect?

It was the prior generation (04-08) that had this issue. The aluminum body of the FPDM would make direct contact to the steel frame. The FPDM would get salt/debris stuck, corrode, and would eventually fail. The new design added some rubber spacers so they no longer make contact.

If you want to check to see if yours is in good shape, drop the spare and look above where the tire hangs.

This is such great news as I am about to set off on a 2500 mile trip. I did look at mine today and it looks like new.... so I can sleep tonight.
THANKS for the post.
