Fuel gauge problem
Hi all! I'm hoping that someone has had the problem or knows the fix for a gas gauge that will not read. This an 1993 E350 van chassis with an RV body. I figure it might be the same fix as an F150. So, here's the senario...
The gauge reads empty with the key off. If I turn the key to the on position the needle goes down about 3 needle widths. I have checked for grounds or anything else that does'nt look right. At the moment I have dropped the fuel tank. There are 4 wires going into the sending unit/fuel pump assembly. Don't know what is the fuel pump and which is the tank unit wires.
I'm figuring the worse, a tank unit/ fuel pump assembly. Anyone have some thoughts?
Thanks
Joe
