Default Front brakes.

I need new pads for sure, but Im not sure how to tell If i need rotors also.

The shop quoted me 300 bucks, But I know I can do it my self, so what I need from you guys is a link to the parts I need. I figure I might as well get new rotors if they are not to expensive.

Its a 98 4.6 4x4.

thanks

If you have an O'Reilly auto near you? If so they sell Wagner parts for a decent price. If not go to Advance Parts they sell Bendix. I would replace the rotors no matter, the new pads have such a high friction that they wear the rotors alot more than the old pads did. Also, if the rotors are OEM then they are prolly under spec anyway.

No special tools. 90 bucks for pads and Rotors?? Thats not bad at all. I would recomend a ceramic pad if its available. Cheap isnt always the best.

those pads dont dust as much right?

I figure I could get okay rotors, and ceramic pads and still be better off than the 300 dollars the dealer quoted me.

I would not recommend ceramic pads. Ceramic materials tend to resist or shed heat very quickly, well said thermal energy must be dissipated by something else.....and thats the rotor and caliper. I good quality rotor such as a Wagner and a decent said of Bendix pads will go quite well.
