Default "flat spot"/Sticky steering

I have been using this site as reference for a few years and I have to say thanks, everyone's knowledge has been incredible. I now have a question I couldn't find the answer to myself. My 05 f150 was laid up for a couple days while I fixed the exhaust issues. Now that the truck is back on the road I have noticed that every quarter turn of the steering feels a little stiff. It's not an unsafe feeling but I hope it's not something that will become serious, any ideas? Thanks for any insight in advance.

The u-joints on the steering shaft may be dried up. Try spraying some wd40 or something similar on them and see if that helps.
