i have a 2006 ext cab 4.6 and i just bought it. the only problem i have with it is when i use the keyless remote to lock the doors and arm the security system.

pressing the lock button once, locks the doors, and pressing it twice arms the security system and is signified by a chirp of the horn.

my problem is when i press the lock button twice. i get the chirp that its armed and after about 15 or 20 mins the alarm goes on the fritz with sparatic blows from the horn. its really annoying and i want to know if anyone here might know of a solution to the problem so i dont have to take it to the dealership and get stuck with a huge bill

any suggestions will be greatly appreciated...

my old 2003 f-150 had that problem. i disconnected the battery for 30 min, to allow the computer reset. it worked for me. if that doesnt work, you can try hitting your valet switch and see it that works

 

the sensor may need to be turned down.turn on alarm hit door or kick running boad to check. if to sensitive
